About this Course

This unit is for the entry controller / top person who controls entry and arrangements for confined spaces without entering them. It includes the duties of the entry controller, pre-entry procedures, entry and exit from the confined space, maintaining communications also initiating and controlling emergency procedures.

The course will cover an understanding of all types of breathing apparatus including cylinder contents and durations along with gas monitoring equipment and gas level limits.

The course includes practical exercises in lock out procedure, permit writing, point of work risk assessments and rescue techniques.

Assessment Criteria

Practical observation during a team exercise and a short answer question paper.
