About this Course

This unit is for those working in a high-risk environment. It will cover preparing to work safely, entering and exiting high risk confined spaces safely, using tools and equipment safely, following procedures and dealing with emergencies.

The course will cover the use of full self-contained breathing apparatus. A full understanding of breathing apparatus set service and maintenance is covered along with emergency procedures. Practical use of gas monitoring and team exercises in a variety of entrance types are shown.

The course includes practical exercises in lock out procedure, permit writing, point of work risk assessments, and rescue techniques.

Practical observation during a team exercise and a short answer question paper.
